Plant Details
An exceptionally attractive variegated thyme. Close mats of dark green foliage marked with gold. Large heads of mauve flowers from June to August.
Thyme has been a favourite herb for centuries, valued for its culinary merit and curative properties. It believed that fairies lived in banks of Thyme and sprigs were burnt as offerings to gods. Many of the Thymes come from the Mediterranean region, but all are hardy provided they have a well-drained soil (or container).
Thyme is very robust and is often planted between paving, in or over walls and in rock gardens.
