Currently sold out, although we have Penstemon glaber available, which is very similar. We have more Heavenly Blue growing on.

A woody dwarf Penstemon which forms a low mound absolutely smothered in summer in rich blue flowers. The flower colour is predominantly blue, but overlaid with tints of pink. Ideal for front of border or rockery situation.

Penstemons really are fantastic plants for any garden. They don't seem to suffer from any pest or disease and even the slugs avoid them. On top of that, they flower for months on end, right into autumn when many other plants have given up for the winter. They look equally at home in a traditional cottage garden, or a stylish modern design.

Loved by bees.

Hardy in all but the harshest winters. Does best in full sun but will tolerate partial shade without problems. Most soil types are fine, including quite dry.

Height: 30cm

Information

  • All our plants are hardy and perennial (come back year after year) unless otherwise specified in the description.
  • Every plant we sell is sold established in at least a 9cm pot, although many are in bigger pots. Unlike some nurseries, we do not sell plug plants because these require ongoing care when you receive them. Our plants can be planted in your garden as soon as you receive them, or they can be left in their pots for several weeks until you are ready to plant them.
  • As we grow everything ourselves and cannot just buy more stock when levels are low, there will be times when certain varieties are unavailable until the next batch has grown on.
  • We are not technically 'organic' but, as far as possible, we limit the use of pesticides and chemicals. We are fortunate enough to be situated in the countryside and we enjoy the environment and natural world that surrounds us, so we do what we reasonably can to protect it.
If you have any questions about our plants, please feel free to contact us and we'll be happy to help.
