A very insightful article in the latest of copy of the Royal Horticultural Society's 'The Garden' magazine about the practice employed by garden centres of 'forcing' plants and displaying them with misleading information on the labels. At best it can just mean that plants are flowering at the wrong time of year. At worst it can mean that foliage 'brought on' in artificial conditions is not able to cope with the conditions when planted out in a customers garden and the plant dies. Needless to say, we do not force or artificially bring on plants at Shire Plants!
