Known variously as Chinese Blackberry lily, Chinese leopard flower and Dwarf tiger lily, Belamcanda chinensis flowers for weeks on end. Distinctive leopard-coloured flowers are held on tall stems in summer. In autumn, pear-shaped pods burst open to reveal clusters of black seeds resembling black berries, extending interest over winter. The flowers can be cut and added to fresh bouquets and later the seed heads add a different dimension to dried arrangements.
