Plant Details

A newish, rare plant from Japan. Deep royal blue spires of flowers. Fantastic in a mixed border.

Each plant has several 60cm - 90cm flower stems with lush spires of flowers up to 30cm long. Stems are clad with pointed sawtooth leaves. Grow in any soil that doesn't dry out completely.

Height: 60cm - 90cm

The genus name Veronica honors Saint Veronica who reportedly gave a handkerchief to Jesus so he could wipe sweat from his face on the way to Calvary, with some genus plants having markings that resemble the markings on the sacred handkerchief.

Common name(s): Heartleaf Speedwell

All our plants are supplied in at least 9x10cm pots. Plants in this size pot establish quickly in the garden and often outpace plants planted in bigger pots at the same time. We do not sell 'plug plants' because those need to be grown on before planting. Our potted plants can be planted immediately, unless otherwise noted, or you can leave them in their pots until you are ready to plant. We grow everything we sell ourselves, in our nursery in the Buckinghamshire countryside.
