Plant Details

This is a delightful little plant from the mountains of Europe, where it can be found growing as high as 12,500ft, forming compact mats of blue-green foliage bearing, in summer, numerous clusters of charming blue-violet flowers with a glowing orange throat. A particularly fine plant for a sunny position in the rockery. Please note that we have found the colours of these wonderful flowers can be very variable, even on the same plant.

Small snapdragon-like flowers appear over many weeks during the summer.

Easy to grow.

Height: 15cm

Common name(s): Alpine Toad-flax

All our plants are supplied in at least 9x10cm pots. Plants in this size pot establish quickly in the garden and often outpace plants planted in bigger pots at the same time. We do not sell 'plug plants' because those need to be grown on before planting. Our potted plants can be planted immediately, unless otherwise noted, or you can leave them in their pots until you are ready to plant. We grow everything we sell ourselves, in our nursery in the Buckinghamshire countryside.
