Plant Details

This rarely seen perennial sweet pea comes from the Taurus Mountains and has wonderful golden orange flowers.

Easier to grow than annual sweet peas and you have the advantage that it comes back year after year. It's herbaceous, so dies back to the ground in winter and springs back to life in March.

Unlike most sweet peas it's not a climber, but throws up numerous self supporting flowering stems to a height of about 60cm.

Height and spread: 60cm x 90cm

Lathyrus is derived from the Greek lathyros, meaning 'pea' or 'pulse', with latifolius being derived from the Latin latus meaning 'wide' and folium meaning 'leaf'.

Common name(s): The Wood Pea; Everlasting Pea; Narrow-leaved everlasting pea

All our plants are supplied in at least 9x10cm pots. Plants in this size pot establish quickly in the garden and often outpace plants planted in bigger pots at the same time. We do not sell 'plug plants' because those need to be grown on before planting. Our potted plants can be planted immediately, unless otherwise noted, or you can leave them in their pots until you are ready to plant. We grow everything we sell ourselves, in our nursery in the Buckinghamshire countryside.
