The hollyhock is a classic English country cottage plant and this is a wonderful double white hollyhock that really stands out in the border.
Alcea ‘The Bride’ bears spikes of fully double, pure white blooms on tall stems. It’s perfect for growing in an ornamental border and makes an excellent cut flower. For best results grow in moist but well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade.
Hollyhocks have been grown in gardens for centuries, their tall spikes of satiny, crepe-textured flowers making a fine display in mid-summer. Best at the back of a sunny border, with something in front to hide their bare lower stems.
