Plant Details

Similar to Abutilon vitifolium (3 metres), but suntense can grow up to 6 metres.

A soft-wood shrub from Chile with vine-like leaves. Vigorous and fast-growing, to 5-6m. Copious numbers of large, mauve flowers with prominent bosses of orange stamens, throughout the summer.

A fully hardy, unusual and vigorous shrub with somewhat downy, vine-shaped leaves and bearing with some abundance exotic-looking, saucer-shaped flowers in an attractive shade of mauve.

Benefits from some shelter against cold winds, so against a warm wall or fence is ideal.

Height: 6m

Common name(s): Gorer's mallow, Indian mallow

All our plants are supplied in at least 9x10cm pots. Plants in this size pot establish quickly in the garden and often outpace plants planted in bigger pots at the same time. We do not sell 'plug plants' because those need to be grown on before planting. Our potted plants can be planted immediately, unless otherwise noted, or you can leave them in their pots until you are ready to plant. We grow everything we sell ourselves, in our nursery in the Buckinghamshire countryside.
